What AEO actually is, and why it now decides your pipeline.

For most of the web era, the job was to rank. Now an increasing share of buyers get their answer before they ever reach a result they can click. AI Overviews summarize. Assistants recommend. The question is no longer only where you rank, but whether you are the source the model quotes.

What AEO actually is

Answer-engine optimization is the practice of structuring a page so that AI answer engines can read it, trust it, and cite it. That means clean structured data, self-contained passages a model can lift without losing meaning, explicit statistics and sources, and question-shaped content that maps to how buyers actually ask.

If the model cannot lift a clean, sourced passage from your page, it will lift one from someone else.

What moves the needle

Public research on generative-engine optimization points consistently to a few levers: expert quotes, citable statistics, and inline citations all tend to raise how often a page is cited back by an assistant. None of these are tricks; they are the same things that make a page genuinely more credible to a human reader.

What no one can honestly promise

Placement. No vendor controls what a model says. The honest claim is that you can structure for citability and measure your share of AI answers over time, against named competitors. That is the number worth watching, and the one we report rather than assert.

How Creogen does it

We bake these levers into every page at generation time, score them before publish, and then track your share of AI answers week over week. The structure is automatic; the measurement is honest. You watch the trend, not a promise.
